Oakhill Storybooks
were written to help young people learn to make hard decisions and to face the world as they find it.
They are are short and easy to read and understand, but they touch on themes and problems that are at the heart of growing up.
The Oakhill Stories are meant to be read aloud or to be used to help beginning readers build their vocabulary.
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Brown.
My home is on a hill in the Village of Oakhill by the Green River. OakhilI is quite a small place, so there aren't very many my age to play with. But all of us here are friends. We share our good times. We share our bad times. But we always have lots of fun together.
Sometimes in the Spring, we lay out gardens and learn about plants. In Summer, we pick berries and go for long walks. We climb trees. We pick flowers. We splash in mudpuddles. In winter, we have snowball fights. Sometimes we have adventures. Sometimes we just sit on the bridge and talk. But we always to it together.
You should come to Oakhill sometime! We would love to meet you and show you our village.
Right now, you can read about us in the Oakhill Storybooks. Each of the stories tells about one of our adventures. Our stories will tell you about how we make friends, how we solve our problems, how we all work together. Join us! I bet you will want to stay.
